Chocolate Wedding Cake With Buttercream Roses

Since we were planning on a simple and small wedding with only close family and friends I wanted a cake representing that too.

My best friend is a great baker and as her present to me she baked me this gorgeous yet simple wedding cake. It was as delicious as it looked.

The cake was only one layer and served my party of 40 perfectly and we had a smaller version of it that we saved for our first anniversary! My cake was a bit untraditional, though. Instead of the normal white cake she made me one that was mouth watering chocolate and decorated it with some edible cream roses.

The whole cost her very little, as she had created the whole thing on her own. I would say about $50.
