Chocolate Birthday Cake With Swiss Meringue

I made this cake for my brother's 23rd birthday. It was all very last minute so it had to be something simple and delicious. He loves chocolate, so it had to be a chocolate cake.

I wanted to make it a little different and decorative, so swirled up some Swiss meringue with melted chocolate to give it a fancy effect.

I used a regular round cake pan and once baked divided in half using some string and filled the layer with some of the meringue I used on top.

The cake was delicious.
