Chocolate And Vanilla Wedding Cake

Layers of chocolate and vanilla butter cake filled with apple-spice buttercream. Made by a private baker in Waitsfield Vermont, it's three tiers (the largest 12") fed 50 guests, and it set us back only $85.

The country style (basket weave, apple-spice buttercream, etc.) suited the outdoor, early-fall feel of our homey-but-formal celebration.
