Captain Rex Birthday Cake

My soon-to-be eight year old requested a Star Wars the Clone Wars themed birthday party. He also requested a Captain Rex Birthday cake.

I made four 9-inch round cakes and one cake cooked directly in my kitchen aid mixer bowl. After they were cooked and cooled I stacked three 9-inch rounds on top of each other followed by the bowl on top.

I used skewers to stabilize the cake so it wouldn't fall. I carved the cakes how I wanted them. I used the 4th round cake to make the raised part on the top by carving off an edge. I frosted the cake white and looked at a picture of Rex to get the helmet right.

It was the hit of the party!
