Candy Corn Cupcake Cake

My son's birthday falls on October 19th so we tend to make it a "Halloween" birthday party. He asked for a cake that looks like candy corn. This was very simple to make. I made a batch of cupcakes using Halloween designed cups. I then took a premade vanilla frosting and frosted the top 3 cupcakes white. Next I took the left over frosting and mixed in some drops of yellow food coloring and frosted the bottom section of the "candy corn". I then used the remainder of the yellow and added in a drop or 2 of red food coloring to give it a bright orange color. I frosted the mid section of the cake this color. I then placed them in the shape of candy corn on a large cookie sheet and placed some store bought candies on them. Everyone loved it!!!
