I made this cake while taking a cake decorating class, and it worked out perfect because I also needed to make a birthday cake for my grandmother at the same time! She was turning 80, and she loves to garden, so I thought this cake would work out well for her.
The flowers and butterfly were made from royal icing, and the cake was frosted with buttercream in a basketweave pattern.
