Bridal Shower Bed

This cake was made for a bridal shower. It is a half sheet cake cut in half frosted with butter creme frosting. The head board and posts were shaped out of gum paste (post was gum paste over oreo cookie sticks), allowed to harden and attached with painted on meringue powder mixed with water. The comforter was made from a homemade fondant with hand painted rosebuds. The pillow was made from the same fondant wrapped around a marshmellow. There is also a dust ruffle with the same fondant, but a darker shade of purple.
