Birthday Cake Memories

The last time I made a cake was for my 5 year old's birthday party at the beginning of December. I weighed my options and decided that I could either buy the cake as usual or bake a cake. I decided to ask my little girl what she would prefer and she said, "Lets bake a cake mommy!" So of course I said, "Sure honey!"

She decided she wanted a circle shaped cake which was great because we had the pan readily available. She also wanted a chocolate flavored cake so we bought the mix from Betty Crocker.

We prepared the mix according to the direction on the box and put it in the oven for the right amount of time. A cup and a half of water is normally supposed to go into the mix; however, we substituted milk in place of the water. We also added a cup of pudding to make the cake more moist. We put in three eggs like the box said and a couple tablespoons of olive oil. It took forty minutes in total to bake it and prepare it.

After the cake was done we let it cool and then came the fun part of frosting the cake. We had pink, yellow, and green frosting that we used. We also had the plastic covers to put on the frosting dispenser in order to get the nice professional shapes around the cake.

I will never forget baking this cake with my daughter. This was the first cake she ever baked and even to this day she always remembers. The memories we created baking this cake are memories that will never be forgotten.
