Baseball Cake

Baseball Cake

I was inspired to make this cake for my son because he loves baseball. I made it for his tenth birthday party. I used a standard 9 x 13 pan for the cake. To prepare, I frosted a 9 x 9 area on the right side of the cake in green, for the field. The remaining 4 inches of cake was frosted in chocolate for the bleachers. I used graham cracker crumbs to put in a "dirt" infield and base lines. Small Twix bars were the rows of bleacher seats. The bases were white Chicklets. I made the pitching rubber and home plate with white frosting. Colored M&Ms made the "fans" in the bleachers. The teams were represented by honey teddy grahams vs. chocolate ones. The honeys were fielding, while a chocolate was at the plate, and his teammate lead off of first base.
