Banana Flavored Wedding Cake

Banana Flavored Wedding Cake

Well I tried doing this for someone, but I wasn't too sure about it. I used 4 boxes for a 12" cake 2 layers and 9" pan 2 boxes for 2 layers and for 8" another 2 boxes for 2 layers. It was a banana flavored cake with vanilla butter cream. I used a lot of butter cream not sure how much but the recipe was 1/2 c shortening, 1/2 c butter, 1 tsp vanilla extract(clear), 2 tbsp milk and 1lb powdered sugar. It made about about 3 cups.

This cake took me 2 days straight to do because I was given such short notice I didn't have a lot of time to really smoothe it out. I used wooden dowels inside the cake to be able to stack it and one big one down the middle of all the cakes so it could stay in place. This was a nightmare when I was delivering it. It did have a small repairable gash in it when it arrived but I was able to fix it at the location. I was so glad when it was over with.
