Artist's Palette Cupcake Cake

My friend is a painter, so for her birthday this year I made her a cupcake palette - cupcakes were perfect for the small group we got together to celebrate, and they're more fun than cake anyway! It was fun trying to get the "perfect" colors in the icing, and the palette is actually cut from a sugar paste. The paintbrush, also edible, is made of pretzel, sugar paste, and a bit of tin foil.
