Applesauce Cake

1 1/2 cups Sugar

2 eggs
2 cups applesauce
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup butter (1 cube)
1 cup sugar
1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Dash of salt

Preheat oven to 350. Mix together the first 7 ingredients to make the cake batter. Pour into a 9x13 baking dish. Top with brown sugar and nuts. Bake for 35 minutes or until done. While the cake is baking mix the final ingredients in a pan and bring to a boil for 2 minutes. Pour sauce over the cake just after you pull it out of the oven. Allow to cool and then refrigerate over night. Enjoy!
