Angel Food Cake Recipe

Looking for an easy Homemade Angel Food Cake Recipe?

 

Ingredients:

1 cup sifted cake flour
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups egg whites
1 1/4 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla

DO NOT Preheat oven 
Bake for 1 hour at 350 F
Use a 10-inch tube pan

Preparation:

Sift the flour.
Add 1/2 cup of sugar.
Sift these 4 times and then set the mixture aside.

Beat the egg whites until foamy and then add the cream of tartar.
Continue beating until the egg whites are stiff enough to form peaks.

Add the remaining sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time until the sugar is just blended.
Fold in the vanilla. 
Sift 1/4 cup of the flour mix over the mixture and fold in lightly.
Repeat this until all of it is used.

Turn into ungreased pan
Cut gently through batter with a knife to remove any bubbles.

Place the cake in cold oven and then bake for 1 hour at 350 F.

Remove the cake from the oven and invert until it is completely cooled.
