Amanda's Butter Cream Wedding Cake

We LOVE cake! So, my husband and I decided on three distinctly different flavors for the three different layers of our cake. The top layer was carrot cake with a cream cheese filling, the middle layer was French vanilla with raspberry filling, and the third layer was rich chocolate fudge. And trust me, I had a piece of each layer!

Our cake was light pink butter cream with ivory butter cream scrolls decorating each of the layers. We bought beautiful fuschia ribbon that the decorator used to adorn each layer. We then used beautiful lilies as our topper. Because our wedding was in a beautiful outdoor setting, we wanted to keep the cake as natural as possible and opted not to use fake sugar flowers or a fondant to cover over the layer over the cake. Also, the use of the fresh, seasonal flowers helped to keep the cost down. We had 80 guests, but ordered the cake large enough to serve 100 so that they could choose their flavor.

It looked beautiful and was exactly what we wanted. Guests loved the different flavor options and the bright colorful punches the flowers added.

Our wedding took place in Santa Barbara, CA and we were lucky enough to work with the amazing bakers at Henning's Bakery.
