Adler's 1st Birthday Cakes

Adler's 1st Birthday Cakes

I wanted to make my daughter's first birthday cake by myself because I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it! She is our first child, so I wanted it to be special.

Adler turned 1 on 8/9/08.

I used 9" round pands for the large cake, 4" round pans for the small cake, and a mini muffin pan from the Pampered Chef for the cupcakes.

I used a french vanilla store bought cake mix for the large cake, and I made a filling consisting of whip cream, raspberry jello and some fresh raspberries. The icing is a home-made whipped cream. For the small cake and the cupcakes, I used a white store bought cake mix and used the whipped frosting for the toppings (the pink cupcakes have the rasperry jello mixture on top). The decorations are just tubes from the store of decorating icing.
