A Mickey Mouse Cupcake Cake
I made this cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday party. So easy...bake 24 cupcakes, then just set them next to each other to form the shape of Mickey's head.
I bought chocolate frosting (black frosting never tastes good) and white frosting that I tinted light pink with just a couple of drops of red food coloring.(Saving some pure white for the eyes & highlight dots). After frosting the 'face,' I put frostings in ziploc baggies and cut off one point so I could 'draw' the outlines of the eyes, nose and mouth. And finally, filled in the tongue with some red tube icing I already had.
(TIP: If some of the cupcakes don't quite fit close together you can fill in the hole in between two cupcakes with a bread heel and then just frost right over...no one even notices when they are pulling the cupcakes apart. I had to 'fill' in two holes on mine).
Editor's Note: Thanks Abi. You did a great job and your detailed description of how to create this cake will help other moms make a memorable cake for their Disney darlings.
