60th Wedding Anniversary Cake

This elegant 60th wedding anniversary cake was served at a party for a couple from New orleans, Ed and Rosie. Their whole family was there, as well as lots of close friends and relatives. The party was held at the Metairie Country Club, which is a few miles outside of New Orleans.

I am not sure if the cake was made by the country club or by an outside baker, but it was of the highest quality. It was a traditional white wedding cake with buttercream icing. That's always been a favorite of mine and it was delicious.

If you look closely along the bottom, you can see, in white icing, the words "Happy 60th Anniversary." Very elegant, and a perfect reflection of this lovely couple.
