Tickle Me Elmo Cake

Tickle Me Elmo Cake

I made this cake for my nephew's first birthday.

He loved his Elmo doll he had so we decided that he would love an Elmo cake. This cake was made with a regular vanilla pudding in the mix cake mix.

I used an Elmo shaped pan and decorated it with the colors from the party. The party hat that Elmo wears was done this way too.

I also made a small Elmo smash cake for the birthday boy to tear up. I used a mini 3d bear cake pan for this that I had cut off the ears and muzzle for. I then made it look like Elmo in a blue baby diaper.

My biggest preparation tip for this cake is to use more concentrated red coloring than you think you need. I easily had a whole container of coloring in this to get the bright red I needed. But for the look on his face while he was tearing up his cake it was worth it.

Oh, and because of the amount of coloring, make sure you bring the mommy a pack of Wet One's or something to get the icing color off of the baby after he is done.

You said you used an elmo shaped pan where did you find a full body one?

[Editor's Note:] You can usually find a few of the full body Elmo pans among the eBay auctions on our site at
