10th Birthday Cake

This was an easy and colorful 10th birthday cake.

10th Birthday Cake With Candles

We baked a yellow cake with a Duncan Hines mix.

The package instructions called for 1 1/3 cup of water, a stick of margarine or butter, and three eggs.

The chocolate icing was store-bought in a can. It didn't taste as good as homemade chocolate icing, but it was fine.

The 10 novelty birthday candles were the highlight of the visual aspect of the cake.  They were bought from an ice cream parlor when we were on vacation because we thought they would help to make an interesting birthday cake.

The candles were called "Party Candles" and were made by a company called Culpitt.
